  • PURPOSE:

    To insure that language used in classified advertising complies with State and Federal legislation and maintains a standard of public relations.

    RESPONSIBILITY OF CLASSIFIED ADVERTISEMENTS:

    The Manager of the Employment and Compensation Division is responsible for coordinating the placement of all help-wanted advertisements for the University in newspapers and other publications and for reviewing the wording of the advertisements so that:

    1. The wording of all such advertisements is in compliance with State and Federal legislation, and

    2. A standard of public relations through advertising can be maintained.

    PROCEDURE:

    An administrator wishing to place a help-wanted advertisement shall contact the Manager of the Employment and Compensation Division for guidance.

    INFORMATION COPIES FOR ACADEMIC OR SEARCH COMMITTEE ADVERTISING:

    To enable the Affirmative Action Office to refer any acceptable candidates from its files, the area placing an advertisement for a position classified as academic, or a search committee placing such an advertisement, shall send an information copy to the Affirmative Action Office.
