  • PURPOSE:

    To outline the University's policy regarding injuries occurring on all University owned, leased or otherwise-occupied property, the reporting of those incidents involving persons other than employees within the scope of their employment, and to provide mechanisms to document such occurrences for appropriate handling.

    EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE:

    It is the policy and intent of the University to render emergency assistance to anyone who is injured or stricken with sudden illness while on University property. The University has an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) system in place to respond to medical emergencies, which is activated by calling the local emergency number, such as 911. This EMS system also includes assistance that may be provided at the work unit or via transport to a medical care facility.

    1. At University Park: University Police Services and University Ambulance Service are available for treatment twenty-four hours every day, accessible by dialing 911.
    2. At All Other Locations: The local EMS system should be activated by calling the local emergency number, such as 911.  PSU Police for the location should also be called to render appropriate treatment when available.
